About The Artist: Aaron Rodriquez
Aaron grew up in the hot, rural desert of Southern Arizona. As he can recall, he has been drawing mermaids since the age of 2, so with big dreams it was only a matter of time before he would outgrow the small-town life. He pulls inspirations from classic cartoons, shojo manga, and queer aesthetics. Once he finally found the confidence to pursue art full-time, he moved to the nearby "big city," and began working at a union print shop. Aaron flourished within the community by becoming involved in a variety of movements, from LGBTQ+ rights, immigration, “radical” politics, and the artistic queer movement. A recent transplant to Los Angeles (moving with his boyfriend and 2 dogs), Aaron is enthralled by the idea of once again finding a place for himself and his art within the queer community, and establishing himself as the kind of artist you can have a cup of tea with.
