About The Artist: Chari Pere
Native New Yorker and former MAD Magazine intern Chari Pere graduated valedictorian from the School of Visual Arts in 2007 with a B. F.A. in cartooning. An invited speaker at the 2009 Israeli Presidential Conference Arts & Culture Panel, Chari has worked with #1 New York Times Bestselling author Gretchen Rubin, JLI Teens, The Orthodox Union, LearningAboutDiabetes.org, MAD Magazine, www.bullies2buddies.com, and Xinja Fitness. Storyboard clients include Comedy Central, Bud Light, Purina One, Beggin' Strips, and Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day. One of the current youngest members of the Comic Art Professional Society and a board member of the National Cartoonists Society L.A. Chapter, Chari currently lives in Los Angeles, CA with her husband and two young kiddos. She continues to use her powers to make the world a happier place, one cartoon (and hug!) at a time.

1.) There are 14 stars to represent the 14th amendment, the clause of the constitution RBG protected the most. The 14th Amendment gives equal protection of the law to all citizens. The stars are red, white, and blue because RBG is an American Patriot.
2.) Some of the stars are Jewish stars, as RBG is very proud of her Jewish heritage.
3.) The words “tRUTH, JusTeas and the American Way” are a parody of the Superman slogan, as we feel she is a superhero, which is why she has a cape.
4.) The rainbow represents her standing up for LGBTQ+ rights.
5.) The scale on her mug represents her love of justice and her career as a lawyer and judge.
6.) The dumbbell is all about her workout routine. She even has an exercise book.
7.) She fought through tons of discrimination because she was a woman, and believes in equality for women, which is why she has the woman symbol on her utility belt.
8.) The Supreme Court building is in the right corner.
9.) In the left corner are three important books about her life, law, politics and civil rights.
10.) The teapot has the classic opera horns and braids, as she is a huge fan of the opera.
11.) The teapot has a state of New York, because she is from Brooklyn, NY.
12.) Like RBG, the artist, Chari Pere, is a talented Jewish woman from Brooklyn, NY.
13.) Many super heroes have an object of power. RBG’s is the gavel on her belt. She only uses it for good.
